California American Water is committed to delivering the highest quality of potable water to its consumers, and provides a product that meets or exceeds current drinking water standards. As suggested by the U.S. EPA health advisory issued on May 19, 2016, California American Water seeks to ensure that potential levels of Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) in drinking water served to customers in California American Water’s Suburban Rosemont system remain below 70 parts per trillion (ppt).

California American Water selected our team to design, build, and install a GAC treatment system to ensure that it meets its commitment of providing high quality potable water to the community. California American Water does this while maximizing the use of budgeted funds to complete the project on time, and with minimal disruption to ongoing operations and surrounding community.

Aqueous Vets is providing two engineered low-profile GAC systems, each consisting of dual ten-foot diameter vessels that contain 20,000 pounds of granular activated carbon. Each system is configured for parallel or lead-lag operation and contains system header and bypass piping. At an overall height of less than 16-feet, the AV low-profile systems are designed to meet the building height code associated with the project site.

AV Hosts Tech Talk at CA/NV AWWA Spring Conference

4/13/2017

Aqueous Vets partnered with Integrity Municipal Systems, Process Solutions, Inc., and PAX Water Technologies to review the typical organic and inorganic contaminants that impact our groundwater, new emerging contaminants of concern, and selected treatment methods. We also explored the available disinfection and fluoridation options and the importance of how powerful tank mixing relates to the improvement of water quality in the distribution network.

Aqueous Vets announces award of VOC treatment systems for the City of Pomona, CA

Aqueous Vets (AV) is pleased to be a team member with MOCON and Water Works Engineers in the design-build project for the Chino Basin VOC Treatment Plant. AV’s experience supplying large sized GAC systems for treatment of water using activated carbon technology in California was considered far greater than that of any other supplier.

AV’s project management and delivery team has more than 75 years of direct experience designing, fabricating and installing large field erected systems for the treatment of groundwater, process water and waste water with activated carbons.

Our team has been responsible for the design and installation of more than 500 systems over the course of 25 years and has introduced owners to leading vessel designs that have now become industry standards. AV has delivered vessels offering the best in design and material.
Chino Basin VOC Plant Project

Project Details

The City of Pomona is committed to delivering the highest quality of potable water for its consumers that meets or exceeds current drinking water standards. The City obtains more than half of its potable water supply from groundwater production wells in the Chino Basin. This groundwater has been impacted by contaminants. In response, the City uses treatment systems to ensure that it meets its commitment.

Currently, the City plans to add Wellhead Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) treatment systems at three wells to optimize production in Chino Basin. The proposed design-build project addresses the City’s goal of providing potable supply water while maximizing the cost effective use of budgeted funds to complete the project on time, with minimal disruption to ongoing operations and surrounding community. The Mocon-WWE-AV Team was selected based on the best combination of capabilities, project experience, proven performance, and value to meet the City of Pomona’s needs. Aqueous Vets is responsible for providing three (3) twelve-foot diameter 20,000 pound GAC systems for parallel or lead-lag operation, system header and bypass piping and the specified activated carbon.
